Does this political party have to control every deal? The BTS is one of the few projects that comes under the city administration. But this Thaksin Shinawatra party has never heard about “separation of powers”.
After more than 20 years of delays, BTSC (Tanayong) finally got this important project off the ground and has done a very good job servicing it. As the BMA responded, the assets belong to the state. The only contribution of the red shirts to this project was throwing rubber tyres onto the tracks as they did all over the downtown area.
The Pheu Thai government is also challenging the True 3G deal, which was signed during the last government. Sometimes politicians have to accept that it is the end of the story.
Governor Sukhumbhand has done a much better job in office than anyone in Pheu Thai and was the only politician who showed any leadership and knowledge during the flood disaster. He has many good accomplishments in office such as the BRT bus line.
Pheu Thai is run by a “one man show” person who never gives praise to anyone else and who has to decide every deal. He and his party should mind their own business and stop trying to undermine the democratic process.
To quote James Madison: “I believe there are more instances of the abridgement of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations.”
