Chuvit calmly remained in his seat videotaping the Reconciliation Bill melee that erupted when several women Pheu Thai MPs tried to stop female Democrat MP Rangsima Rodrassamee from stealing the House speaker’s chair while he was absent. Chuvit then taped himself at the scene of the crime. “The chair is now gone!”
Other highlights of his Honourable Members Catfight Video (no DVD release planned yet) include Kittiya “Dear” Charoenphol shouting at Rangsima and Chuvit’s own sardonic voice-over, “I am not involved.”
Actually, he uploaded the two-minute-plus clip to YouTube (user name KamolDavis) and tipped off Channel 3, which ran it on the news. The video’s been viewed more than 4,000 times online and is generating fierce debate between loyalists of the red and yellow persuasions.
Chuvit appears to be a fine journalist but not much help in terms of reconciliation.
‘Cosmopolis’ bites
Fresh from the Cannes festival, World Film Festival of Bangkok director Kriangsak “Victor” Silakong has been raving about a movie he saw there, “Cosmopolis”. By “raving” we mean he’s warning people to avoid the new David Cronenberg flick at all costs.
Victor watched more than 40 films in Cannes but reserved his greatest disappointment for “Cosmopolis”, not least because teen heartthrob Robert Pattinson makes a better vampire than a billionaire assets manager.
Victor’s not the only one who thinks casting Pattinson is like having an adolescent deliver the keynote speech at the World Economic Forum. A lot of critics wonder whether the actor even knows what his movie lines mean.
“The content is rather imaginative – it’s all involved with the world economy,” Victor says. But it’s not entertaining at all, and yet it was somehow entered in the main competition. Maybe Cannes is just desperate to get more Hollywood stars on the red carpet!
