We’ve always applied our sunprotection screens before we head outdoors, but now there’s one to be used after your skin’s been exposed to the harmful rays. Sisley’s Sunleya Ageminimizing AfterSun Care is also an antiageing treatment.
Sisley Paris managing director for AsiaPacific Nicolas Chesnier was at the Mandarin Oriental in Bangkok recently, showing off the new product to a crowd that included celebrities Saraichatt Jirapaet, Chollada Mekratree, Pattamon Adireksarn, Chutima and Onchuma Durongdej, Napat Assakul, Nattaset Poonsubmanee and Chanatip Chandrubeksa.
“It will immediately soothe and take care of the skin after sun exposure,” Chesnier said. “It works on the longer term, and has complete antiageing action as well. It even prepares the skin fore the next day’s sun exposure.”
The groundbreaking Sisley Botanical Facial Sun Cream hit the market more than two decades ago, but in the years since, researchers have learned more about just how aggressive the sun’s rays can be. “A product that only blocked the sun was simply not enough,” Chesnier said.
In 2006 Sisley launched Sunleya Ageminimizing Sun Care, which utilised new discoveries in antiageing methods and photobiology. It boosted the skin’s natural defences, which had been found to be the most effective in many ways.
The firm’s approach ever since has been to allow those natural defences to work rather than blocking them with too much protection. The new Sunleya Ageminimizing AfterSun Care also complements – and could even replace – your usual antiageing night cream.
“It’s designed to provide 90 per cent sun protection, so that the skin actually benefits from exposure to the appropriate amount of sunlight,” said Rujitr Suthanaseriporn, director of Sisley in Thailand.
“The cream stimulates the skin’s protective mechanism, which in turn enhances the effects of Sunleya’s UVA and UVBfiltering complex. It protects the complexion throughout the night, while combating wrinkles and repairing the skin so that it’s better prepared for more harmful rays the next day.”
Among the celebrities who spend a lot of time outdoors, Chutima said she’d tried the new cream and found that it lent her skin “freshness and allnight protection”.
“I wake up the next day feeling great, with soft and luminous skin. This is definitely a musthave for the summer holidays.”
