Wan, Aof and Pop will chat and maybe even sing in 'Sam Yak Pak Wan 2'
After wowing the crowds last year, singers Thanakrit “Wan” Panichawit, Pongsak “Aof” Rattanaphong and Pongkul “Pop” Suebsueng are offering a second edition of their “Sam Yak Pak Wan” concerts, moving to a larger venue and inviting a host of special guests.
“This concert series is about both singing and talking,” says Wan who, like Aof, is an alumnus of the “Academy Fantasia” reality-talent series. “This time, though, we’ll be balancing the music and the talking a little better and we’ll also be speaking about the stories that surround us, which will be more interesting for the audience.”
“The huge success of last year’s show has made it difficult preparing for this year’s concert,” says Aof. “We’ve been jamming to think a lot about how to deliver more fun to the fans and we’re now convinced we’ve accomplished this mission. We promise that this concert will be even better.”
Pop, the frontman of Calories Blah Blah, agrees. “We’re doing what we really want to do for this concert without a serious script,” says Pongkul. “That’s why the audience liked it the first time.”
The show, which last year was held at Thammasat University’s main auditorium, moves to the bigger Royal Paragon Hall.
Along with performances by each of the three popular artists, who’ll each sing their own hits as well as numbers guaranteed to have fans up and dancing, there’ll be another “war of words”.
Special guests will include DJs Sripan “Oon” Cheunchomboon, Samapon “Kai” Piyapongsiri and Puthachart “Tui Tui” Pongsuchart and vocalist Jennifer Kim.
“Oon, Kai and Tui Tui will gather in a group to fight our group,” says Pop. “It will be funny but not impolite.”
“I used to work with Tui Tui and he’s very funny. The girls too will make the audience laugh,” says Aof. “During the war of words, Oon, Kai and Tui Tui will be facing us. It will be a lot of fun.”
“Jennifer is a great all-round artist. She can sing, dance and tell jokes. In fact, she’s the ideal guest.”
