So in love with music and art

Singha Corporation stages its first music festival just before the new year on a Ratchaburi farm

Music Union, or “Sahaphap Dontri” as it’s known in Thai, is all set to prepare fans for a happy 2013 on December 29 with an music and art festival dubbed “So in Art So in Love” at The Scenery Vintage Farm in Ratchaburi’s Suan Phung district.
“We’re now ready to organise our first large-scale music event,” announced Vudhinan Bhirombhakdi, Singha Corporation's group manager and the head of the event and music marketing department, during a recent press conference at Flow, the popular pub and restaurant on Phaholyothin Soi 9.
“We’re moving beyond the usual format with ‘So in Art So in Love’ and staging not just a concert full of romantic love songs but also a showcase of candles and sculptures,” says Rati Panthawi, executive director of Singha Corporation.
Taking part in the fest are several of Thailand’s favourite musicians including Moderndog, Singular, ETC, Tattoo Colour, Mild, Laong Fong, Keng Athib, Rock Mahoree, Jamjan, Ten, VIP, Watcharawalee, Blackhead, Burin and The Old School All Star, Stamp, Two Poptorn and special guest Nicole Theriault.
The art showcase will feature outstanding ceramic sculptures from Tao Hong Tai, one of the oldest ceramic factories in Ratchaburi and ten of thousands of candles from Baan Hom Tien.
Festival goers can tour the farm in a wooden trolley bus, feed the sheep, watch demonstrations of wool weaving, have fun with English country-style games and feast on dishes supplied by restaurants from around the province including Honey Scene Steak & Bar.
