Re: "Once upon a time, they chained the printing presses", Opinion, September 26.
When Prince Prisdang, an editor with Siam Observer, openly criticised the government’s policy and spending, the police came to shut down the newsprint and put a chain round the printing press for good measure. That was in 1912, 100 years ago. Clearly, the editor’s lot is not a happy one!
