Kate Spade New York might be an all-American brand but its autumn 2012 collection has a Parisian spirit. Designer Deborah Lloyd, who lived in Paris for years, is inspired by the Cour d’ Honeuer (Court of Honour) at the Palais Royal.
Parisian motifs adorn the clothes. Polka dots and stripes perk up cute day-dresses styled to perfection, with colourful cardigans, Peter Pan colours, and smart tomboy-ish trousers in grey, black and seasonal orange. Accessory highlights include polka-dot pumps, sleek envelope clutches and flirty car gloves.
The collections are available at CentralWorld, Central Chidlom, Central Lat Phrao, the Emporium and Siam Paragon. For more details, visit KateSpadeThailand on Facebook.
Beautiful Bentleys
AAS Auto Service, Thailand’s distributor of Bentley cars, has converted the Hall of Fame at Siam Paragon into a showroom for “The World of Bentley”.
The exhibition displays the five top models, imported directly from Bentley’s factory in Crewe, England. You can see the Mulsanne, Continental GT V8 and GTC V8, Continental Flying Spur and Continental Supersport Convertible ISR – the only 100th-edition sports car. World champion Juha Kankkunen drove a Supersport Convertible ISR in winning the World Ice Speed Record.
The exhibition continues to October 3.
Community art
The Art Centre of Silpakorn University hosts “Art and Community Project No 7: The Movement in Transition” from October 8 to November 2.
Curated by Ormkaew Kallayanapong, the exhibition is a survey of communal art created by six artists of diverse disciplines – contemporary artists, filmmakers, designers and photographers.
Nopadon Chotasiri, Somsak Sakulitsariyaporn, Jitsing Somboon, Anuchai Sricharoenphuthong, Thaweesak Srithongdee and the Mootta Team delved into the community, participating in activities and playing dominant roles, prior to transferring what they learned to different kinds of video art.
