His pictures mimic fashion spreads in glossy magazines, photos of him in costume taken at odd locations like a fresh market, a bus stop or hanging off the back of a police paddy wagon.
The page is currently entertaining 64,000-plus fans, not bad for a production that started out as a hobby. The “housewife” realised that all his friends were sharing the weird photos he took for fun and they were getting good feedback. So now he puts them online.
His freelance work allows him to travel to various places, and that’s why his locations are so diverse – from the top of a mountain and down a lonely highway to the beach.
The more established media eventually picked up on his success and he’s been interviewed by TrueLife online and Dichan magazine for its second September issue and made the cover of Bangkok 101 magazine. Next month he gets his own “fashion spread” in Volume magazine.
But probably the best reaction the housewife with the facial hair has had so far came among the many compliments he’s earned. “Your page makes my day after a hectic day at work,” one of his fans commented. That made him realise he has a duty – to create smiles and laughter. It’s great too that he does it for free!
Does he have any plans to expand on his wonderful service, given its success? Not right now, at least. “I don’t think I want to have any other page. I’ll just stick to my Mae Baan Mee Nuad. ”
However, there is one addition to the family of chuckles that’s coming up. More smiles and laughter are on the way in the form of “Mae Baan Mee Nuad” videos on YouTube. Have a look at the teaser clip at http://www.YouTube.com/user/MaeBanMeeNuad.
