Danai makes it to Australian Open doubles

Danai Udomchoke failed to get into the men's singles main draw of the Australian Open after losing to China's Wu Di in the Asia-Pacific play-off in Nanjing, China, yesterday.

Danai, who is carrying an injury to his right arm, lost the singles final 7-6 (7-1) 6-4. However, the Thai found some consolation by making it into the main draw of the doubles event when he and partner Jimmy Wang of Taiwan won the doubles final against Hsien Yin Peng and Hsin-Han Lee of Taiwan 6-4 6-3.
“I have been carrying this injury since the Shanghai Masters. It was bothering me, especially in the second set. I couldn’t hit well and was down 0-4,” said Danai, who will play his last event of the year in Seoul starting today.
