This represents the feeblest form of myth-making. It might be possible to select a “good guy” with a gun on Monday morning. But circumstances are subject to change.
Just ask the 51 families of “green on blue” killings in Afghanistan. Uniformed and vetted “good guys” are not automatically what they seem. Furthermore, this horrible tragedy began with a “good guy” – a primary school head teacher – being executed with her own weapon.
Does the logic extend to an armed guard outside each and every teenage bedroom?
Good luck if you really do intend to head down that road.
