Khon on canvas

With depictions of khon sod or folk khon as well as the more formal court version of the maskeddance artform, Atipong also has shadow puppets as he subjects.
The gallery is at OP Garden on Charoen Krung Soi 36 and is open Tuesday to Sunday, from 11 to 6. Call (02) 238 6410 or visit www.SerindiaGallery.com.

Doing a job on Jobs
Apple computer fans can pay tribute to the man behind the iPod, iPhone and iPad next week as new wax figure of the late Steve Jobs is unveiled at Madame Tussauds Bangkok in the Siam Discovery Centre.
The Apple cofounder will be portrayed in his trademark relaxed style, wearing a black cotton turtleneck, Levi’s 501 jeans and New Balance trainers. He will also be wearing replicas of his custom made Lunor spectacles.
Ironically, the techniques used to create the figure are almost technology free, with artisans using the same tools and methods first employed by Madame Tussaud herself more than 200 years ago.
Jobs goes on display on Tuesday. For more details, call (02) 658 0060 or visit www.MadameTussauds.com/Bangkok.
