Nestle (Thai) celebrates 120 years in Thailand with a mobile expo

Nestle (Thai) is turning 120 this year and to mark this auspicious anniversary is encouraging all of us to lead longer and healthy lives.

The company, which has been in operation in Bangkok since 1893, when it introduced its famous sweetened condensed milk to the Thai public, hosted a mobile expo at the Rajamangala National Stadium last weekend on the theme “Live Healthy, Live for More”.
The exposition provided fairgoers with information that can help improve their nutrition, health and wellness and also explained what Nestle has achieved here over the past 120 years. The mobile expo will also be travelling around the country this year, with stops in 120 communities nationwide benefiting around 350,000 Thais.
Celebrities flocked to the expo’s opening where they were greeted by Wayne England, chairman and CEO of Nestle Indochina and Nophadol Siwabutr, corporate affairs director in Thailand.
“During our 120 years of working in Thailand, we have developed a very deep understanding of Thai consumers and their needs. We are able to deliver global nutrition and health solutions tailored to meet the local nutrition, health and wellness needs of Thai people,” England said. “Our Mobile Expo forms an important part of our ‘Nestle120 Years Side by Side With Thais’ programme of activities to celebrate our special anniversary in Thailand. It aims to accelerate Thai people’s ability to live healthier lives by providing them easy-to-understand educational entertainment about how to have a balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle supported by Nestle’s products.
“Every minute of the day or night, we have 40,000 portions of our products being served throughout Thailand. This is an enormous sign of trust from consumers and one, which we hold in the highest regard. We will continue to build on that trust in the years ahead by offering Thai consumers the tastiest and healthiest products that meet their changing lifestyles and needs and further increasing the nutritional value of our products. We will also continue to build nutrition and health understanding so that people can make more informed choices, every day,” he continued.
The Mobile Expo featured 13 activity zones including areas where visitors could get health checkups, nutrition advice, participate in educational entertainment as well as other activities.
On the roll-out day, special guest stars were on hand to help support and the event. Thanawat “Pope” Wattanaputi was at the Creating Shared Value Zone. Piyapong Pue-on and his son Pongpisut were having fund at the Smart and Active Kids Zone. Pimonwan “Pui” Hoonthongkam was greeting visitors at the Healthy Meal Zone.
