An affordable 3G smart phone with good performance, True’s new GO Live Dual Core is ideal for enjoying online multimedia from TrueMove H.
GO Live Dual Core features a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor and 4.5-inch touch screen. It has 512 MB of RAM and 2 GB of internal storage, which is expandable by a microSD card of up to 32 GB storage. The phone runs on the Android 4.0.4 operating system.
Priced at just Bt4,290, GO Live supports the 3G connection of HSDPA technologies at both 850MHz and 2100 MHz bandwidths as well as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections.
The phone comes with two themes and three popular teenage stars – Urassaya “Yaya” Sperbund), Pakorn “Boy” Chatborirak and Rasri “Margie” Balenciaga for the phone’s wallpaper theme. Each package of star themes has an additional five sub-themes from which to select.
Each of these boasts fun H Camera photo frames that you can use to make your friends look like they are posing with the stars. And each comes with applications specific to Yaya, Boy and Margie, allowing the user to join the stars’ club, monitor their news and movements as well as answer quizzes related to the stars.
For example, the H Interactive app lets you monitor the news of the stars according to the selected theme and chat with other fans.
The H Club app allows GO Live Dual Core phone owners to read the backgrounds of the three stars, view their photos and watch video clips as well as behind-the-scene clips.
The phone also comes with H Music app from TrueMove H that lets you listen to hit music online on the 3G network free of charge. TrueMove H also allows GO Live Dual Core owners to download new songs every Monday free of charge.
It also comes with H TV app for watching online shows of some of the channels provided by TrueVisions on the 3G network. And on Tuesdays, TrueMove H allows the phone owners to watch Korean series free of charge with the app.
During the test, I found that GO Live Dual Core’s touch screen and menus were responsive and most functions operated smoothly. Applications were downloaded and installed fast.
While riding the bus to and from my office, I managed to check and read feeds on my Facebook page as well as mails smoothly. I had no problem updating my Facebook status on the go. Checking in on Foursquare was also smooth.
I also enjoyed listening to music online, using the H Music app, plugging my premium Sony in-ear headphones to the phone and appreciating the sound quality.
The TV app ran smoothly too though it is necessary to register for a True ID to app before you can watch free-to-air channels, like 3, 5, 7, 9, NBT and Thai PBS. You can also link your TrueMove H phone number or TrueVisions account to the True ID to enjoy more channels on the H TV app.
