“Threatens impeachment if official who criticised rice scheme is harassed” cried the sub-headline.
My humble opinion is that deputy permanent secretary Supa Piyajitti has already been harassed and bullied by those in power. Her findings were simply a statement of truth of poor administration of the scheme, which is making huge losses. Why should she be under investigation for being professional in answering the Senate committee’s questions? Casting doubt on her noble deed is a hooligan reaction when he or she is lost with power of reasoning. Supa Piyajitti definitely deserves an honorary doctorate degree on accounting for this unselfish act from her Thammasat University, which should be immensely proud of its former student.
I ask how come the anti-corruption movements and the corporate good governance pressure groups are so silent on this episode when it is so opportune to highlight their causes. Possibly, the wrongdoers are too powerful to touch, while people like Sorayuth Suthassanachinda are so nice to lambaste without fear of being hurt.
