A well-known contemporary furniture showroom serves as a showcase for works by two French artists

Chanintr Living recently celebrated the second anniversary of its Thonglor showroom with the launch of the art exhibition “Les Illuminations” featuring the works of two French artists; photographer Manolo Chretien and sculptor Val or Valerie Goutard.
Among the guests were Nithi Sthapitanonda, Sorapoj and Chotipol Techakrisri, Wasan Puengprasert, Pornpatr Witoonchart, Wannasiri Kongman, Julaluk Piyasambatkul, Karatpetch Issara and Kanachai Bencharongkul. DJ Saint Vincent manned the decks as guests milled around enjoying the art and the contemporary furniture.
Chretien, who spent his childhood on French Air Force bases, has always been inspired by aircraft, automobiles and spacecraft, viewing them as symbols of the world’s ceaseless driving force. He describes his work as “Aluminations”, a combination of illumination, hallucination and aluminium. His creations utilise the innovative techniques of fine art print on brushed aluminium. As a contrast, the selection of his images also includes captivating waves.
Val, whose inspiration for artistic creation is derived from her personal perspectives toward human beings, their roles and relation to nature, and the contrast between fullness and emptiness. expresses her emotions through exotic bronze sculptures.
“The contrast of works by two artists is captivating – their compositions follow no specific rules, appealing to the individual viewer’s tastes and desires, much in the same way that Chanintr Living’s exclusive home furnishing products pull at the heartstrings of the individual. We aim to please our customers with the aesthetics of art and hope that these art pieces fuel inspiration for our audiences so that they too will integrate sophisticated creativity into their everyday life,” says Chanintr Living chief executive Chanintr Sirisant.
The exhibition displays 18 photos and 13 sculptures, representing Craft, Minotti and bulthaup brands, and will continue until August 31.
