Democrats need to improve their performance

Re: "No invitation to the party", Letter, September 7.

Rightly, the Democrat Party declined the invitation to attend the reconciliation forum as long as the government vigorously advocates an amnesty law. The September 2 forum at which the foreign dignitaries spoke was inappropriate without all Thais being represented.
The battle between the two main parties has now become like a rugby match. In terms of timing and words, those in power seem to have gained strategically more space, even though there have been failures in many other areas. The Democrats’ open letter is another example of irrelevancy, full of mantras from the opposition. Still, I can only be grateful to the Democrats for their filibuster in frustrating the unwelcome amnesty bills, and hope they can improve their PR work and bring themselves down to earth.
