The accumulation of chemicals, especially heavy metals, can cause numerous health problems.
The body’s internal organs naturally detoxify chemicals, though, and we can help it perform better by drinking plenty of water, getting enough nutrients, eating food that’s high in fibre and exercising regularly to sweat out the toxins.
Over-accumulation of toxins can cause numerous problems, from weakening the immune system and obesity to insomnia, fatigue and dull skin. When the body isn’t healthy, it can’t work efficiently, and this applies to every system, including the skin cells, causing insufficient production of collagen and elastin.
There are five good ways to detoxify.
The first is colon hydrotherapy, which can assist in removing toxins build up in the colon, but can only be performed by a skilled doctor since the colon has such delicate tissue.
Second, exercise helps the body flush out toxins through sweat while improving our health in general. Third, a skin treatment such as Far Infrared can remove some of the toxins by boosting blood circulation and sweating. Far Infrared rays are similar to the energy emitted by the sun, penetrating the skin and heating the subcutaneous tissues, causing the body to sweat, thus flushing out chemicals.
Fourth, consume detoxifying drinks. Certain fruit juices and herbal drinks are good for this, helping cleanse the digestive system. Always consult a doctor or nutritionist first, though.
The fifth approach should only be used by people in dire need of help, such as when an unhealthy level of heavy metal has been detected. Rapid detox can be done by chelation therapy, using agents to remove the metals, but, again, must be carefully administered by doctors.
Prior to any of these approaches, consult your doctor. A healthy person really doesn’t need to do anything extra about toxins because the body takes care of it. If you’re feeling unhealthy in any way, an anti-ageing programme can help you determine the cause, and then your doctor will be able to explain what’s needed. As with anything in life, prevention is better than the cure. Do not wait until your body screams for help. Get checked once a year to be on the safe side.
