Slate.com, arguably the best, most balanced source for US news, carried "College Women: Stop Getting Drunk" on October 15, noting: "It's closely associated with sexual assault. And yet we're reluctant to tell women to stop doing it."
Journalist Emily Yoffe makes many good points in the commentary that are also applicable to Thailand, although many non-drinking women everywhere also become defenceless victims of rape.
I suggest a title for an article in Thailand: “All Men: Stop Getting Drunk”, adding: “It’s closely associated with stupidity, loss of respect and friends, brain damage, destroyed health, accidents, death, poverty and eventual incarceration.” Others are encouraged to add to the list, which is obviously incomplete.
