Throughout the nine-day competition, the contestants – all undergraduate art students from many universities – must create their works while residing in the Queen’s Gallery.
“The concept of this year is ‘White Canvas’ and refers to the fresh, young talent who will make a difference in the art scene. We want to promote art appreciation and art work in our society,” said Khunying Chodchoy Sophonpanich, director of the Bangkok Bank Foundation and the chairwoman of the project, during the press conference held at the gallery.
The Bualuang Artist of the year will receive Bt100,000 scholarship and a plaque of recognition plaque while the Bualuang Creative Artist will take home a scholarship worth Bt70,000.
