A coup would suit Thaksin fine

Those calling on the military to stage a coup are possibly doing exactly what Thaksin wants them to do. If there is anyone in this world who desperately wants a coup, it is Thaksin.
Remember 2006? After that coup, Thaksin hired an international PR team to attack it as a tool used by his enemies to topple a “democratically elected government”.
Thaksin thus turned from underdog to victor by the time of the December 2007 election. His parties have won every election since.
If a coup should happen now – without ample reason – Thaksin will win again eventually.
