The solution to the current mess is so obvious I'm amazed nobody has suggested it. Appoint Anand Panyarachun to head up and select a committee to design a new constitution that will have the teeth necessary to prevent corruption and abuse.
Like the ancient Roman statesman Lucius Quintius Cincinnatus, Khun Anand has stepped forward not once, but twice, to save his country. His administrations are widely considered to be the best Thailand has ever had. He also designed what might have been the best constitution the country has ever had.
It is a pity that such a resource is being wasted while politicians wrangle.
