Abhisit should practise what he preaches, as befits a man with ambitions to be prime minister.
“That government is the strongest of which every man feels himself a part,” said Thomas Jefferson. Since the Democrats cannot by themselves form a government, Abhisit should urgently fashion a party platform that reaches out to all sides – including those red shirts who realise that Thaksin values whitewashing of his crimes above justice for the 92 killed during the 2011 unrest, and that his vaunted rice plan is but a blueprint for national bankruptcy, and thus not feasible.
The Democrats should focus on planning reforms key to a free and fair election, including anti-corruption measures, as that is what unites the anti-government protesters, so that they can vigorously contest the next elections as early as possible.
Democrats, why do you hibernate? Awake and practise what your leader preaches.
