Bird is everywhere, except maybe Monte Carlo

When entertainer hongchai "Bird" McIntyre steps back from the scene, we hear little about him. But when he's active, it seems all eyes are on him.

This year has Bird asking for fans’ attention, and he doesn’t have to put much effort into it.
From the first glimpse of his upcoming new TV series, “Kol-kimino”, the response has been overwhelming. Fans are looking forward to it. After all, it’s been 17 years since he’s acted on TV.
Few other artists at Bird’s age – 55 – could expect the same widespread adoration.
Adding to the hype, Bird sings the theme song for the hit Channel 3 series “Ya Luem Chan” (“Forget Me Not”), so fans are also primed to hear more of his voice.
Adding still more to the excitement is that he is nominated in several categories at the upcoming World Music Awards. Founded in 1989, the awards are based in Monte Carlo. This is the first year a Thai has been nominated, but there’s another Thai also up for an award – Wanida “Gybzy Girly Berry” Termthanaporn.
Mainstream Thai media mostly reported about Bird’s nomination and forgot about Gybzy.
However, both of them will face tough competition. Other nominees include such big names as Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars, Bruce Springteen, Jay Chou, Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Avril Lavigne, Christina Aguilera, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Rihanna.
Reporters asked Bird whether he would go to accept the award (that is if he wins) and he said he wasn’t sure. “Well, it is in Monaco, not Thailand, and my schedule is pretty tight,” he said.
However, just being among the first Thais nominated should make him and his fans proud enough. And you can vote for him at www.WorldMusic|Awards.com
And don’t forget Gybzy! Keep an eye out for the WMA awards announcement on May 27.

Couple seeks advice
Actors Boromwut “Mic” Hiranyatthiti and Pornchita “Benz” Na Songkhla celebrated their marriage in style on Saturday with a big reception.
They wed last November but held off having their wedding party.
“I wanted it to be very casual so that even an electrician could attend. Finally I solved the problem by having an after-party for those who didn’t want to dress up,” he told reporters.
The marriage is going well so far. “I would have done it earlier had I known it was going to be this good,” Mic joked.
“Really?” That was Benz’ reply, with a smirk on her face.
The couple is planning to have two children, and Benz, 33, is rather worried that she may need a specialist’s help because of her age. “I have asked all my friends and will start consulting a doctor soon,” she says.
But it won’t be until next year that the two can really go for their “big” plan.
“Benz has already accepted a TV series this year so it’s got to be next year,” Mic says.
Another challenge for the busy celebrity couple, though not as difficult as planning for child-rearing, is finding time to have a honeymoon.
“We have two days off but no time for a honeymoon yet,” Benz says.
Places in Europe top the list, though they may settle on the Maldives.
“I’d be happy enough to get a chance to travel around the region first,” Mic says.
Perhaps they should seek advice about how to make time for their honeymoon.
