Siam Paragon and top jewellers build an "Enchanted World" of diamonds, rubies and emeralds

More than Bt1.2 billion worth of jewellery from 20 top boutiques lit up a hall at the Siam Kempinski Hotel recently for Siam Paragon’s “Enchanted World” show.
Specially crafted for the occasion, the pieces followed the theme “The Beauty of Nature” and a throng of A-list celebrities found themselves roaming through a mythical forest sponsored by SCB Credit Card and Audi Yontrakit Corp.
Bijoux de Louise, Blue River, Der Mond, Gems Pavilion, Le Beau, Mikimoto, P&P Jewelry, Pannarai Jewellers, Premiera, Prima Gems, Rajdamri Gems, Sette, Sincere Jewelry, Sirinapa Diamond, Sirus Tanya, ST Diamond Design, Tang’s by Chua Lee, Tess Jewelry, Trez Jewelry and Xavier provided the eyeball-popping gems.
While Pegasus fluttered about and nymphs, fairies and other elemental beings summoned magical spells, Janie Asavahame, Davika Horne and Myria Benedetti and professional models made the rounds wearing stunning jewellery sets.
Janie wore a crown and wore the “Fancy Queen” set from Gems Pavilion. Weighing nearly 271 carats, it comprised two necklaces, earrings, a ring and a bracelet of exquisitely cut fancy-shape diamonds.
Davika showed off “Supremacy of Nature” from Sincere Jewelry – a stunning diamond necklace with ruby-embedded butterflies weighing 250-plus carats, and a pair of diamond earrings and a ring. Nat was festooned with Blue River’s emerald necklace, earrings and ring, the sparkling perfect-green gems from Colombia topping 70 carats in total.
Premiera’s sapphire-and-diamond necklace, ring, bracelet and earrings also turned heads. The necklace alone had a 41.13-carat cushion-cut Sri Lankan sapphire pendant of cornflower blue. Bijoux de Louise crafted a diamond necklace and ring that resembled a bouquet from one angle and, from another, a pair of hands clutched in the bond of love.
Der Mond made a one-of-a-kind clutch purse in rose gold with a rose motif and studded with diamonds. Le Beau used an extremely rare yellow diamond on its necklace and an equally unusual pink diamond for its ring.
From Japan, Mikimoto, among the planet’s top makers of pearl jewellery, brought a pearl-and-diamond choker, a pair of earrings, a bracelet and a ring, all made with the top 1 per cent of the world’s finest Akoya pearls. P&P Jewelry’s necklace, earrings and rings formed clear, high-quality diamonds in pear, marquise and round shapes into a beautiful flower-and-leaf design.
A necklace with pear-shape diamonds and a diamond bracelet from Pannarai Jewellers were together worth Bt60 million. The diamonds had been carefully sorted into pairs, while the bracelet borrowed the gentle flowing of a traditional sabai breast covering. Prima Gems’ extravagant ring and earrings bore blood-red Burmese rubies weighing 7.5 carats, the finest and rarest of their kind.
Sette’s Art Deco “Liberty” set featured a necklace with a mesmerising 26.11-carat Asscher-cut emerald centre stone in a perforated peacock pattern of white gold, and a matching emerald ring. Sirinapa Diamond used its own logo in “The Empire of Butterfly” diamond tiara and bangle, together weighing 89.71 carats.
Sirus Tanyahas’ gorgeous gear-motif necklace and a butterfly brooch were decorated with diamonds and sapphires. The butterfly’s wings actually moved, dazzling in their sparkle. ST Diamond Design’s glittering diamond necklace was decorated with 33 rubies from Myanmar collected over a long period for their similarity in hue.
An extraordinary ruby necklace, bracelet, bangles and diamond earrings from Tang’s by Chua Lee were inspired by the legend of the Himmavanta Forest. Trez Jewelry took its cue from Celtic knots for the “Nodo Celtico” diamond necklace with a deep-blue Sri Lankan sapphire pendant and a pair of earrings.
Tess Jewelry’s necklace bore diamonds and seven large Burmese rubies, 78.5 carats in total. Burmese rubies of such a large size are quite. Xavier’s outstanding necklace, bracelet, earrings and ring featured diamonds of various shapes.
