Pornanong Phatlum clinched her best-ever finish at a major with a four-over-par 284 for joint seventh along with Japan's Sakura Yokomine and America's rising star Lexi Thompson.
“I spent two weeks with my family back home before I came to this tournament, which gave me a boost. Seeing Mum and Dad and getting support from other relatives helped me mentally and physically. So I was feeling good and it showed at this tournament,” said the Thai No 1, who signed off with a 71.
“The course is quite narrow and the greens are small and a bit curvy –like a turtle’s back. But I made very few mistakes this week and my putts dropped really well,” said Pornanong, who received US$113,582 for her effort.
