Mulberry drops into Bangkok to showcase its new collections for autumn and winter

Luxury British brand Mulberry recently served afternoon tea and lemonade at the British Embassy residence in Bangkok as a prelude to its sneak press preview of the label’s autumn and winter 2014 collection and the bags designed in collaboration with model Cara Delevingne.
Borrowing from the elegance of classic men’s tailoring, the latest collection reinterprets iconic detailing on beautifully feminine pieces with inherent Mulberry charm. British Paisley is playfully handembroidered with added jewelled detailing for a modern update. Iconic Arran and Argyle knits are sleek and sumptuous, reworked in beautiful fabrics in a single colour. The wider colour palette of Evergreen, Bottle Green and Camel reflects the English countryside, while the Midnight Blue is inspired by the clear night sky. Three greys and simple black add class to the collection, rum gives it richness while subtle wheat, white and cream lighten the deeper tones.
Outerwear celebrates the masculine tuxedo in a tailored jacket with contrasting satin lapels. The puffa jacket is reworked in British flannel and a traditional gentleman’s overcoat becomes a timeless and beautifully soft women’s piece. The signature cummerbund and pleatfront shirt from a tuxedo suit inspired the detailing on new silk blouses and women’s evening trousers, and the iconic business stripe was taken from men’s shirts, and used on ultrafeminine voluminous silk blouses.
In the accessories line, Mulberry’s famous bag the Bayswater evolves into the Bayswater Buckle, which expands on the proportions of the original Bayswater to give it a larger capacity. The signature details remain, including the postman’s lock closure and leather fob. The internal adjustable belt buckle straps have been moved to the outside, giving the Bayswater Buckle its name and allowing for easier adjustment of the belted sides. The new style is available in Oak, Midnight Blue, Black, Oxblood, Poppy Red and Indigo, as well as a striped version using a mixture of leather textures in Mole Grey, Oxblood and Midnight Blue and a triple combination of Poppy Red, Evergreen and Midnight Blue.
Since Mulberry’s launch in 1971, the robust leather bags with styling inspired by English country pursuits have caught the eyes of customers around the world. The new Tessie collection evokes that same spirit and comes in both classic and practical styles, each finished with the signature belt buckle and strap detailing and understated Mulberry tree logo hardware crafted in supple leather.
Model Delevingne and Mulberry have been working closely together for the past couple of years on a collection of bags. The MulberryCara Delevingne Bag is a threeinone style, uniting Mulberry’s English attitude to functional beauty and Delevingne’s inimitable personality.
Softest nappa leather is reinterpreted as a quilted finish inspired by the model’s urban elegance and love of the famous Mulberry biker jacket. This sumptuous leather takes colour beautifully and is available in deep emerald, Delevingne green and indigo blue, as well as black.
Uniting innovative luxury with street cool, a bespoke camouflage is fused with the softest haircalf in velvety dark green and misty white and grey for a contemporary yet sophisticated bag that stands out from the crowd..
The brand is also offering a limited edition creation inspired by the model’s lion tattoo and which features gold lion rivets studded to exquisite calf leather.
