Headline an insult to Thai farmers

Re: "Message to hungry SE Asia: Waste not, want not", Opinion, August 19.

I find the headline in the article by Shawn Kelly offensive and in very bad taste.
Are we Southeast Asians hungry? Thailand is one of the two largest rice-exporting countries in the world. Southeast Asia is the largest producer of rice in the world. Southeast Asia and Thailand thus feed the world, and yet the article calls us hungry! Having worked in the agriculture sector in Chiang Mai for two decades, I think the headline is false, mischievous and insulting to thousands of our farmers who toil to feed to world. Using such sensationalistic language to sell your ideas is wrong.
The Nation should be careful before publishing such offensive terms.
