Tesco Lotus reduces bags

Re: "What happened to 'no plastic bag' stores?" Letters, September 5.

We at Tesco Lotus would like to respond to David Brown’s letter. Tesco Lotus has a strong commitment to help conserve the environment which is ongoing and expanding. As of now, we have expanded “No Bag” stores in Phuket and Samui to four stores, and on August 26 of this year, we opened the first “No Bag” store in Bangkok at Tesco Lotus Express Navamin. Through many plastic bag reduction initiatives last year we were able to save 14 million plastic bags and our target for this year is 20 million bags. We would like to take this opportunity to invite all customers to join us in reducing plastic bag usage and earn extra “Green Points” on their Tesco Lotus Clubcard every time they shop without a plastic bag.
