Luxury watch brand Omega was joined by Bangkok’s A-listers at Siam Paragon recently for a “Moon Watch” party that marked the 45th anniversary of the lunar landing and introduced a magnificent timepiece in its honour.
The Omega Speedmaster Professional Apollo 11 45th Anniversary Limited Edition is a replica of the Speedmaster Professional chronograph strapped around the spacesuit of Buzz Aldrin who, along with fellow Nasa astronaut Neil Armstrong, became the first human beings ever to set foot on the surface of a celestial body on July 21, 1969.
“Armstrong had left his own Speedmaster aboard the Lunar Landing Module as a reliable backup to the electronic timekeeping system,” Busara Tantiwarathaworn, brand manager of Omega (Thailand), explains.
The “Moon Watch” party featured a gigantic space dome in honour of the grand legacy of the Omega Speedmaster while an adjacent exhibition “The Greatest Time at Hall of Legacy” included a VTR screening of the launch of Apollo 11 into space.
