History is an accumulated record of facts about events that gives us an accurate picture of our past.
The omission of the former prime minister’s name from official Thai history textbooks results in a gap in that picture. Omitting such a significant figure will only encourage history students to find out who he is and wonder why his name has been obliterated from textbooks. Instead of knowing nothing about him, they may end up making up their own stories and distorting history. Let history be based on the truth of facts – the whole truth.
