Protests are not the solution to problems

Re: "Country needs bill for public gatherings". Burin Kantabutra, Nov 22.

Demonstrations are an abomination. People gathering in the street to protest one thing or another is nothing but someone looking to cause trouble. A democracy has courts to resolve injustice and doesn’t need demonstrations that may or may not end in violence, arson or murder.
Witness what is occurring in Missouri right now and what occurred in Bangkok a few years ago. Demonstrations are not public forums like in Rome centuries ago, but rather mobs with an agenda, either whining for what they want or burning cities for it.
What you did in the South (of America) decades ago, Burin, was the training ground for two instances of mass arson nationwide in America over the next few decades, and now a third.
Segregation could have been ended by appealing to the proper federal courts. Ultimately it was the federal government that put an end to it, not the demonstrators.
What you have never understood about America is that it was settled by Europeans who did not believe in demonstrating to end injustice, but rather believed in working your way through it. They do not relate to people who take to the streets to either whine their way or burn their way to an end. That is why discrimination still exists in the US to this day.
What makes what you did even more outrageous is fact that you were not even a citizen of that country, just a visitor.
I sincerely hope you will consider what I’ve said before you boast again about what you did in a foreign country. Some of us who were raised in that country and understand it better than you could resent such comments. Further, we fear the consequences of such a mindset in Thailand.
