End to hypocrisy on Cuba is long overdue

Although, as a rights advocate, I am no fan of the Cuban government, it is absurd for America to have relations with far worse dictatorships while demanding that Cuba become a Western-style democracy. Don’t forget that America even supported Saddam Hussein until he invaded Kuwait and threatend American oil interests. (As far as I know Cuba doesn’t intend to invade Kuwait!)

While economic sanctions didn’t move Cuba toward democracy, they brought the Cuban people hardships. A change in that stupid and senseless policy is long overdue.
