Evolution rules apply to careless motorcyclists

So the traffic fatality numbers are out, with 341 people dead in seven days over the recent holiday period.

Not surprisingly, many of the accidents involved motorcyclists.
The good news is that two-thirds of these people died immediately after wrapping themselves around a lamppost, thereby saving hospitals much time and money better spent on victims of non-self-inflicted ailments.
A couple of nights ago I witnessed one of these suicidal fools. While walking out of my apartment onto the main road, a motorcyclist with a passenger sped past, negotiating the right-angle corner using one hand and texting on his mobile phone with the other. Neither wore a helmet.
I’m not upset a bit when I read of these fatalities and consider it a blessing a few more morons are off the roads no longer causing death, injury and unbearable noise.
If these people have a death wish, let them bring it on. In fact I would suggest the wearing of helmets be made optional, hopefully hastening the demise of these hooligans and making the roads and footpaths safer for everyone.
