As to veganism and frequent publication

A Johnsen (Letters, January 3) does not know what he's talking about! In order to get cancer from consuming fructose you have to consume enormous amount of it - far more than you would consume from eating fruit.

The study he mentioned was not referring to people who merely eat fruit. It is the added sugars that are causing those health problems, not fruit!
As for Steve Jobs, he already had advanced pancreatic cancer by the time he went on the Dean Ornish vegan diet. What I said was that Ornish’s diet reversed the progression of early-stage prostate cancer. That is a completely different situation from Jobs. A Johnsen also said I cherry-pick facts. But is it cherry-picking to note that the Journal of the American Medical Association in 2013 concluded after surveying 70,000 people that vegetarians live longer than meat-eaters?
As for Mr Beasley’s letter, isn’t it interesting that the people who complain about me getting published too much never complain when the people they agree with get three or four letters printed in a single week? What a bunch of self-serving, hypocritical tyrants.
