It would be a great shame if former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra – after defending herself in the impeachment case at the National Legislative Assembly last week – fails to appear at the NLA tomorrow to face questions and to deliver her closing statement before the verdict on her impeachment is delivered the same day.
It was brave for Yingluck to have spoken at the NLA last week.
But that will come to naught if she refuses to answer the 20 or so questions prepared by NLA members.
These questions will help the public decide whether Yingluck knew what she was doing, or otherwise, during the implementation of the rice price-pledging scheme.
Failing to show up in person at the NLA would be a big blow for Yingluck, both in terms of public confidence in her as a former leader and for her own personal integrity.
