PREMIUM BEEF noodle shop Nuer Koo is continuing to expand and in more ways than one, throwing open a new branch at Silom Complex that also offers pork noodles, easy-to-eat dishes made from fish and pork and desserts.
Like its big sister at Siam Paragon, Nuer Koo is minimal in terms of decor though the space at the new outlet is bigger with enough tables and chairs to accommodate 60 hungry diners. The name plays with a meaning of soul mate in Thai and allows customers to come up with their own hearty combos.
Six kinds of marbled beef are on offer. The Australian wagyu, lean cut, sirloin, shoulder, under-rib and rib eye are all from grain-feed cows and bought direct from a local farm to guarantee quality. Prices range from Bt130 to Bt550 per 100 grams.
Noodles priced at Bt25 and Bt30 come with a choice of clear traditional beef broth made from the bones and mixed with savoury sauce and chilli vinegar or bone marrow beef broth, which is blended with offal.
The sliced Australian Wagyu beef and tender under-rib beef go for Bt550 and Bt300 respectively while lesser cuts of beef, beef balls and tendon in bone marrow beef broth are priced at Bt165. If you don’t fancy noodles, you can opt for Japanese steamed rice for Bt40.
Japanese Kurobuta pork dipped in broth (Bt140), steamed rice topped with sliced pork (Bt155) and Chinese Egg Noodles with red pork, pork dumpling and boiled eggs (Bt125) are available at the Silom branch only. Go with a group of friends and dine on Phuket Fish Balls (Bt120), Fish Dumpling filled with pork (Bt125) and crispy Deep-Fried Chinese Chive Cakes (Bt80).
Dessert is also typically Thai street food – Smooth Pink Ice Cream served with freshly baked bread. It’s yours to sample for Bt70.
