Free meals as Paragon bombs cost A his jacket

Manager-to-the-stars Supachai "A" Srivijit was one of the many patrons caught by surprise when two bombs exploded outside Siam Paragon on Sunday night.

The “homemade” explosive devices left one person with minor injuries and scared thousands of shoppers inside the ritzy mall.
Supachai relayed the scenes of panic on Instagram. “It was an exciting day and I just realised that when we are in state of shock, we don’t care about anything,” he wrote.
As the explosions reverberated through the mall, Supachai was among the many rushing for the exits. “I was worried about women and kids as they too ran for their lives”, he said.
In his haste, the flamboyant manager left behind his jacket and prized Hermes bag. “I got my bag but still couldn’t find my jacket,” he wrote. “If anyone has it, please return it to me. Thanks.”
The bombing also caused losses at Supachai’s high-end somtam shop at the mall, Tam Lae, where customers fled without settling their bills. “I don’t care about the loss as I really wanted everyone to be safe,” he said.
In fact, other restaurants were also hit by diners dropping their chopsticks mid-bite to scram for the door.
“My friend was having sukiyaki at MK Gold and when the bombs went off all in the restaurant rushed out. So it was free meals for all last night,” said PrajKPS on Twitter.
More questions for Aum
Through good times and bad, actress Patcharapha “Aum” Chaichua always attracts packs of reporters and they never seem to run out of questions for the A-list celebrity.
Now that she is back on with her on-off boyfriend Pitan “Amp” Ongkosit, reporters are pestering her about Valentine’s Day plans.
Aum, prepared for the onslaught, was ready with answers.
“Yes, I do have plans to go abroad. But it will be not far away,” she said.
“Have you prepared a present for him?”
“Yes,” she said giggling, adding that she did not want anything special from Amp.
“Any proposal expected?”
“No,” she said, laughing. And it’s funny because she’s said about million times already that she won’t be tying the knot until her show-business career and business ventures wind down a bit.
One of those ventures is a new facial-cream line, which follows her entry into the skincare industry with a sun-protection cream.
“My business is okay. Many people think that sunscreen is not necessary, but as for me, I’d say it is a must. I have been wearing it since I was very young.
Because her skin is super-sensitive, Aum says she wants to make sure her products are safe. “I tested my product myself for almost eight months before putting it on sale,” she said.
As for her acting career, Aum says she’ll be in a new Channel 7 series, even though her contract is ending soon. Reporters asked about rumours that she’d been offered shares in Channel 7 operator BBTV to remain.
“Totally untrue, and I don’t think I deserve that,” Aum said. “We have a good relationship. They look after me so well. I don’t think I will move anywhere.”
