The Thai Journalists Association seems to be taking Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha’s most recent remark very seriously.
The PM said he would like to punch a reporter “in the face” in response to repeated questions concerning his various responsibilities as the county’s leader.
The Journalists Association is likely awaiting assurance from the PM’s Office that he would never actually punch a reporter, and that the remark was just a joke.
In the meantime, we can only hope the association doesn’t decide to offer boxing headguards to reporters stationed close to the PM.
That would turn out to be a real blow for Thailand’s image.
