Where are Prayut's precious rings?

Re: Front page photo of PM Prayut displaying a mini-donut in Roi Et, March 18.

In this photo, PM Prayut is not wearing any of his famous rings.
Earlier we were told that he wore four rings (“PM is Thailand’s ‘Lord of the Rings’,” 17 September 17, 2014). They even had names:  Wan-Phra, Wan-Namoh, Wan-Sondej and Wan-Noppakao.
But now the erstwhile Lord of the Rings is ringless. The Nation should be chided for not giving us a report on this important development. Why no rings?
My husband, Horace Beasley, has a theory that people wear jewellery because they feel insecure. The more jewellery they wear, the more insecure they are. He calls it Beasley’s Law. He cited it to justify not buying me a wedding ring so many decades ago. The real reason was that he is a cheapskate. He did present me with a rubber band to wear, but it wore out years ago, and he never replaced that precious symbol of his undying love.
Applying Beasley’s Law, may we infer that the PM felt insecure when he first took over this country, but that now he feels secure enough to dispense with his rings? After all, he doesn’t have anything to worry about except the occasional bleat of criticism by Human Rights Watch, and they don’t have any guns. There is of course the toothless US government, but we all know how relevant THEY are.
Let’s have a story on this innovation and the reasons behind it.  And yes, this is one of the vital issues that keep me awake at night.
