To fight flooding, declare war on plastic garbage
Play
Much of the blame for the floods is because you, dear reader, and me block our overloaded drainage system with garbage - particularly plastics, which take next to forever to disintegrate.
We should immediately reduce the amount of plastic in garbage, by requiring that all plastic bags, foam boxes, etc, for consumer goods be biodegradable (as Villa Supermarkets is doing), or encourage firms to have “no bag” days (as Central Department Store does). Best of all would be to not use bags at all (following Ikea’s example, even for edibles) and encourage recycling (as Novotel hotels do).
Help make Bangkok a nicer place to live by producing less garbage.
