I was shocked to read the article on the inhuman treatment reportedly meted out to the Ethiopian maid by her employer, a World Health Organisation executive. Look at the irony of the situation. A WHO official ill-treating his own maid! How can he work for an organisation, which is supposed to look after the health and welfare of all humanity?
He should be sacked immediately by the WHO, have his pension forfeited and be put behind bars. Only then will such inhuman behaviour stop.
And what about the neighbours? This ill-treatment had been going on for two years and no one noticed. It just goes to show what insulated lives we are leading these days.
