Charles Frederickson applauds Sweden and Britain for recognising the oppressed Palestinians and supporting the idea of a sovereign Palestinian state.
This is the popular, simplistic advocacy of a situation, which is only symptomatic. Yes, of course we all have considerable empathy for the situation in Gaza. The suffering is unacceptable, but simply giving the people sovereign rights will not change their lot at all. The yoke around their necks is an ideology.
Palestinians are not oppressed by Israelis, they are oppressed by an ideology by which they are controlled. A Palestinian state would only be one more Islamic state and further world acceptance of the ideology of Islam. Israelis are aware of this. They have suffered historically more than most from fascism. It is exactly that which they are resisting once more.
Islam sells itself as a peaceful religion and to relieve themselves of the responsibility of addressing this issue, Western governments accept this erroneous propaganda, it lets them off the hook as it were. Some leaders accept it out of naivete and ignorance, others through lack of courage to recognise the truth.
In his book “The River War”, Winston Churchill says of Islam, “the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists”. He also refers to their “slovenly systems of agriculture”.
The United Nations granted the area of barren desert known as Israel to Jewish people in 1948. It is now an agriculturally rich, advanced democracy. It seems the rest of Palestine remains much as it was, devoid of food and politically unstable, controlled by its same “retrograde” ideology. With death being the punishment for apostasy and criticism, change is unlikely, as a sovereign state or not.
Churchill also prophetically states, “were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science ... the civilisation of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilisation of ancient Rome”.
Christianity is no longer the bastion it was. Western civilisations are now under threat due to the same naive thinking which supports the notion of a Palestinian state.
