A Thai designer is inspired by a Nirvana song for her summer collection
Thai new-wave fashion brand Dergres by Munchu invites girls to mix femininity with a boyish touch through its new collection of summer togs inspired by some of the coolest sounds around.
The ideas started flowing when talented designer Munchumart “Kawpode” Numbenjapol and her team attended the Coachella festival in the US where they heard the old Nirvana hit “Come as You Are”.
The gear includes light shirts, printed bell-sleeved tops, bib-shorts, printed jerseys, cropped tanks and bell-bottom pants in the signature Daisy Eye print. Detailing underlines the curiosity of the teen spirit while the Daisy Smoke patterns bring out the little rebel within by lighting up a daisy.
Another key piece is the oversize “Come as You Are” T-shirt representing independence and freedom. The overall silhouette in this collection takes the wearer back to the film “Almost Famous” while placing the hippie essence in a modern context.
