Alternative energy
- Producing more alternative energy
The National Energy Policy Council (NEPC) approved the 2015-2036 power development plan (PDP 2015) which focuses on the following aspects: 1) Security (proportion of resources used as energy source would be distributed appropriately), 2) Economy (electricity rate would reflect the actual electricity generation cost to cause as small impact on consumers as possible), and 3) Ecology (the NEPC supports alternative renewable energy generation).
- Positive sentiment for alternative energy generators
According to the 2015-2036 Alternative Energy and Development Plan (AEDP) included in PDP 2015, the government aims to increase the proportion of alternative energy generation from 8% to 20% of total electricity demand within 2036, raising alternative energy generation capacity by 19,635 MW within 20 years (including energy from large hydroelectric plants which was initially not included in the AEDP). The plan gives big chances to power generators specialized in various energy sources, benefiting alternative power generators: GUNKUL, DEMCO, EA, TPCH, IFEC, and SUPER. However, since current wire system is available for only outstanding solar energy, the government needs to announce the names of winners of the solar farm project first. Then, after the installation of new wire system is completed and ready for new plants, the names of power generators chosen by the government can be announced.
- Top picks: GUNKUL, DEMCO
Top picks among alternative energy generators are GUNKUL(Buy:
[email protected]) specialized in power generation and EPC plant construction and DEMCO(Buy:FV@18B) specialized in power engineering and EPC plant construction since they are likely to be chosen for the outstanding solar energy project and local government organization and agricultural cooperatives energy project in the next couple months. They are likely to benefit from power plant bids in the future.
