Traffic accident rate reflects the lack of policing of Thai roads

Our traffic accident rate, which is double the average, is easy to understand when you see the complete lack of law enforcement on our roads.

Police pick a shady spot and for a few hours target mostly motorbikes; usually it’s riding over an overpass or not riding on the left. What our accident rate doesn’t say is that most riders are hit by cars.
Cars with drivers who are chatting on their phones behind tinted windows that are so black that you can’t even see in the car as they change lanes without signalling.
Cars that drive so close together that the number one insurance claim is fender benders from people tailgating each other. Tailgating is illegal in most countries.
There are so many offences for police to choose from. I can’t understand how they can claim they don’t get enough money. There are moving violations every two seconds.
