As US and Asean dither, China continues to grab land with impunity

That’s it in a nutshell. Wake up, Uncle Sam! You’re the strongest player. Each week the US sits and twiddles its thumbs is another week enabling China to (literally) cement its land grab of Filipino territory. China is not going to back down. 

The only thing that might push it back is a sharp military slap to its face, coupled with Filipinos physically occupying the islands backed by a continued US presence with guns drawn. All the hollow discussion we hear from the limp-wristed Asean (which is incapable of doing anything) is playing to China’s advantage. Sorry, Filipinos, but I think you’ve already lost your islands, because your fair-weather friend, Uncle Sam, is a bit non-committal about taking dynamic action.
