The trouble with JC Wilcox is that he believes that only he gets to define what is democracy and what is in the best interests of the country.
Even some of the harshest critics of Thaksin Shinawatra admit he did some good things to help people. So those people believe from the bottom of their hearts that Thaksin served the best interests of Thailand. Whether they are right or wrong in their assumptions is a matter of opinion. Just as it’s a matter of opinion that the junta is doing a great job.
I’m not a fan of Thaksin or the junta. But I believe those who support either are patriotic if they believe that the side they support is best for Thailand. Patriotism is nothing more than an opinion. (Although Mr Wilcox always assumes his opinions are facts).
