Interior decor on your shoes

Charlotte Olympia has trimmed shoes and bags with household items and wild prints

BRITISH accessories brand Charlotte Olympia is picturing “A World of Interiors” for this autumn and winter – on shoes and bags.
The coolest, most chic shoes and bags are now adorned with all the trims and trinkets of an ornate mid-century home, complete with daring colours and seductive prints.
Elaborate metallic-gold heels jazz up single-sole Objets d’Art Dollys and fancy hollowed-out platforms. The Rococo Case features a sculpted gold-metal handle. Lizard-pattern calfskin and embossed silk-satin add texture and enrich upholstery in the collection.
Shoe designs are furnished with a new acid-yellow insole to contrast with the shocking pink of the outer surface, the same wild hue seen in the Square and Round Cushion Pouches trimmed with soft satin and velvet.
Prints are bold and disarming on the Pandora clutch box, while the new High-top Sneakers are wallpapered in black stripes, white roses and yellow felines.
A white-marble print adds polish to the classic Stefania lace-ups and Kitty flats. The cheetah, a favourite among Charlotte Olympia animal prints, has been reinvented for the new pony-skin Carla court shoe with tiny platforms and the Alix Cheetah shoes with asymmetric, 145mm block heels.
The seasonal additions also include “More is More” and “Less is More” – thigh-high stocking hold-ups in champagne and black Lurex.
Wooden accessories feature strongly in this decorative display, such as the multicoloured Librarian briefcase and miniature Side Table Clutch in Perspex, complete with wooden table legs.
The Mini Bar is a Perspex clutch box with magnetic beverage accessories, and the metallic champagne-tone Bucket Bag has a cheetah canvas lining.
No “home for accessories” is complete without Picture Perfect Heels, the Bouquet, a vase-shaped pouch with silky roses, or the embroidered Portrait Tote, from which dangle pictures inspired by the expressionist paintings of Kees Von Dongen.
