Based on your excerpt of Nation TV’s talk with Jatuporn Prompan, one of the previous core men of Thaksin Shinawatra, allow me to gauge his degree of loyalty to the former PM. The following points from Khun Jatuporn deserve reiteration and being stored away for possible re-examination later:
lThe leaders of both sides should not be granted amnesty – no blanket amnesty.
lHis future fight is for the people and not one individual like Thaksin.
lThaksin was the “history” of the Pheu Thai Party.
lPoliticians should be “democracy fighters and not electioneers”.
lHe advised Yingluck not to flee the country and to keep calm and go to temples.
lLooking back, “Thaksin fleeing the country became a costly lesson”.
l“Had Thaksin stayed in the country, the country would not have turned out like this”.
lThe chances of Thaksin returning home is dim.
Well said, Khun Jatuporn! I, too, really wish Thaksin had never left the country and faced the music like a man because people like you would have come to his rescue.
