Time for US to honour its anti-corruption pledge

The US government should act on the allegation that Harvard University is “harbouring” a former Mahidol University dentistry lecturer who has reneged on her scholarship contract with the Thai government.
The woman’s identity has been revealed on the Internet. She granted in 1993 with the aid of the scholarship and now the term of her debt has reached maturity. She is allegedly earning a handsome salary at Harvard.
Her four guarantors – friends of hers and fellow lecturers here in Thailand – are facing charges of fraud and will have to pay for her debt. The woman must thus be regarded as a criminal on the run.
The US government, with its condemnation of corruption anywhere in the world, must act to correct this problem immediately.
